Keep your eyes on Failed login details of your WordPress admin panel June 7, 2011

By default WordPress logs only visitors activity ( IP  , article  and what links where clicked on  )  . For statistical reasons these information is adequate . A good practice would be to log un-authorized log-in attempts in your administration panel . This article will demonstrate two WordPress plugins that can help you track these attacks .

  1. Login logger :  Just install and enable it from your WordPress admin panel .
  2. Mute Screamer  is an plugin with more advanced features like : email notification , banning the IP from which a wrong log- in attempt where made ( the banning time is configurable )  , Ban threshold and more . Although this plugin needs some extra configurations , it’s worth to spend your time on it .
