Accessing phpmyadmin from a remote host (not only from localhost) September 25, 2010

My previus article demostrated how to enable authentication on your phpmyadmin app.

Enable authentication for phpmyadmin login

To gain access phpmyadmin from a host from your LAN  “  ”  modify the folowing configuration file :  Installation_dir_of_wamp\alias\phpmyadmin.conf

phpmyadmin.conf file :

Alias /phpmyadmin "C:/Program Files/wamp/apps/phpmyadmin3.2.0.1/" 

# to give access to phpmyadmin from outside 
# replace the lines
#        Order Deny,Allow
#	Deny from all
#	Allow from
# by
#        Order Allow,Deny 
#   Allow from all

<Directory "C:/Program Files/wamp/apps/phpmyadmin3.2.0.1/">
    Options Indexes FollowSymLinks MultiViews
    AllowOverride all
        Order Deny,Allow
	#Deny from all   <<---- comment this out 
	Allow from all
	Allow from
